NWO Visitor Grant for Giulia Frezza

The Metaphor Lab Amsterdam was awarded an NWO Visitor Grant for Dr. Giulia Frezza from Sapienza University, Rome. Dr. Frezza will spend four months at the lab, from July through November, to work on her research on the role of metaphor and resistance to metaphor in the framework of Risk and Responsibility in Science Communication, with special attention to the metaphor of gene-editing in CRISPR-Cas9.

We are looking forward to welcoming her to the Metaphor Lab again.

 

Metaphor Lab at International Conference on Multimodal Communication

From 9 June to 11 June 2017 the International Conference on Multimodal Communication takes place at Osnabrück University, Germany.

Mark Turner (Metaphor Lab advisory board member) organizes this event, together with Alexander Bergs. Also, Marianna Bolognesi (Metaphor and Modality Team coordinator) will be representing the Metaphor Lab Amsterdam at this upcoming conference.
